Hull The Only Place In The UK Where You Do not Have A Choice. By Alan Dalgairns

I'm sitting here in my home in hull typing this article but the only way I can send it is by email using Kingston Communications phone line supported by Karoo broadband and this is the only town in the UK in this position... well that's not strictly true, I could go back to dial-up and take Hull24's service or I could start a wireless contract with any of the mobile phone companies and use their broadband service's, but why should I?

It's about time that hull residents were able to choose which wired broadband provider they want. I understand that a new company coming in to Hull to provide broadband will face difficulties and when you phone existing ones they say I'm sorry but we don't offer broadband in your area at the moment

The fact is without them putting the infrastructure in and setting up new agreements with Kingston Communications it will never happen. My plan is to approach one company with a list of people who actually want to change provider, hopefully when they see that there is a demand for other suppliers in Hull they will do something about it. I'm fed up with seeing adverts on TV and billboard posters around hull for Broadband providers we can not use. Let's do something about it! Visit: www.hullnet.co.uk
