Fiday 16th May 08 - Moonbeams at The Old Town Hall, Driffield
|
|
The last night of its kind until Autumn, May's Moonbeams - organised as always by Leila Slater -
follows hot on the heels of other Moonbeams evenings that have featured the high-profile likes
of former Seahorses frontman Chris Helme, The Hall Brothers, Duncan McFarlane, and
Hayley Hutchinson.
|
|
|
Scheduled to boast the wonderful talents of five acts, May's Moonbeams is to be headlined by
Brother Crow, an acoustic duo from Weardale.
Performing original songs on guitar, mandolin
and a ten string bouzouki, Brother Crow's live performances have been described as intense,
captivating and beautiful.
The bill also includes:
|
Anna Shannon - A versatile multi-instrumentalist from Scarborough who was awarded
BBC Radio Yorkshire
Songwriter of the Year in August 2006. Since then she has released 3 albums of original material
and was also awarded 1st & 2nd places in the Song of the Sea competition at Whitby's
Captain Cook
Festival in May 2007.
Claire J. Smith - Returning to Moonbeams for a second time,
having sung before Chris Helme back
in November when she proved very popular with the audience. No wonder really when she possesses
such a beautiful voice and presents such enchanting songs.
|
|
|
Karl Sloan - A fabulous singer-songwriter who is having great sucess with his songs on
Cashbox Magazine Pop Chart.
Jasper & Smirt - Local lads who should need no introduction, being Moonbeams regulars who
never fail to inspire the audience to engage in the spirit of things.

your support...
