Propeller and the RTS Student Awards

Propeller TV, the broadcaster that was established in 2006 to support new filmmaking talent, has teamed up with the Royal Television Student Masterclasses & Awards. The cool-hunting Propeller TV is set on sweeping up the latest new talent at the RTS Awards being held in London on 16th May 2008.

Student filmmakers, producers and directors entering the RTS Awards will have the opportunity to see their work broadcast on Propeller TV (Sky 195) later this year.
Now in its 13th year, the RTS Awards were set up to recognise the best audiovisual work created by full or part-time students. The undergraduate awards are open to all UK colleges and postgraduate awards are presented for colleges in the UK and Europe.
Terry Mounsey, Operations Director at Propeller TV told us, 'I'm delighted that Propeller is supporting the RTS Student Awards again this year. Both Propeller and the RTS do so much to encourage new and rising talent, it is a perfect match.'

Carole Dove, Managing Director at Propeller TV said, 'Without new talent and novel ideas, the TV and Film industry will just get stale. There are so many new ways that people can experience the moving image in today's world and it's a more exciting time than ever for people entering the industry. We want to help them get off to a good start and at the same time show our viewers the high standard of ideas that are coming out of the UK's colleges.'
